Today is a tough and emotional day for us. As we weigh the decisions that must be made to sustain the health and growth of our company. Many of you have been with us from the inception of our program and have endured the growing pains of a new program, yet you have shouldered the responsibility bravely and moved us in a positive direction. We have seen the value of your efforts in those we place in Jobs, in education and in training. To date we have placed 9000 in jobs. We could not do this without your valiant effort. Financially we continue to perform well, hitting all the targets expected of us. We continue to outperform our predecessor and those who currently do what we do. We have lost a very lucrative government contract and this forces us to review its’ impact on our economic health. As it stands, we have to and are looking at our company's future. We will need to determine if layoffs are necessary and how to further restructure our program so that we are better able to sustain ourselves as a company. Today I want to discuss with you the possibility of layoff and to talk about the realignment of the job you currently do .We will meet back with you in a few days to provide more concrete plans and what it is we intend to do.
We have always aimed to be transparent and honest with you. We have always shared our goals, our challenges, and our rewards with you. We have always valued you and we boast that our asset is you, our employees who drive the energy and the passion needed to get the job done; therefore, we will always keep it honest with you. If layoffs are needed( know we will do our best to prevent this) we will meet with you to discuss the percentage of staff that will be separated from us and we will ensure that we offer you the support that is needed so that the transition is as hassled free as possible. For those separating we will give you two month’s pay and will pay 75% your healthcare cost for three months. We will have HR onsite to answer concerns and we will ensure that a representative from unemployment is onsite to answer your queries. We will ensure that you have information for medical services through Cobra. In addition, we will give you written references for employment. Please know that this offer is generous as our predecessor did not do this and I cannot think of other programs( such as this) that has ever done this.
For those who remain with the company( in the event of a layoff), we will ask much of you. We will ask that you continue to step up in a big way, to sail with this program like you have never done. You will find, that we are asking you to do more. Personally, I will take a cut in pay. You may be asked to put in extra hours or that your job description has merged or changed. We will ask that you to give to this company so that we can continue to be a force in work force services. We are requiring this because we know that you are more than capable and that the overall strength of the company is our collective mission and goal.
Our goal as an organization is to continue to be great. Our goal is to build a legacy for our community and to be here another 80 years from now. We have a team of builders in you and we can achieve this. Whichever decision is made, please know that we will put the interest of our company and the interest of our staff forefront because we do value and appreciate you.
